Who we are

Essex Fencing is a fencing business serving Essex and the surrounding areas. We are the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website. If you have any question about this notice, call us on 01268 000 000.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote, the form collects your name, phone number, email address, postcode and anything you tell us about the job. If you call the number on this page, our call tracking provider records the number you called from and the time and length of the call, and the call itself may be recorded so we can follow up accurately. We also receive the details of the advert or search that brought you here (such as the campaign and keyword), your device type and your IP address.

How we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, to arrange a visit or a quote, to carry out any work you ask us to do and to keep in touch about that work. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us to contact you about a quote (taking steps before entering into a contract) and our legitimate interest in running and improving our advertising. We will not add you to a marketing list without your agreement, and we never sell your details.

Who we share it with

Your enquiry is stored in our customer management system (CRM), which is hosted by a third party provider acting on our instructions. Social Sherpa, the marketing agency that runs our online advertising and this website, can see enquiries so they can measure which adverts bring us work and help us respond quickly. We also share limited technical data with Google (see cookies below). Everyone who processes your information on our behalf is bound by a contract and may only use it for the purposes set out here. Some providers store data outside the UK; where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

Cookies and advertising

This page uses Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics cookies to count visits, measure which adverts lead to enquiries and show you relevant adverts on Google's network. These cookies store an identifier, not your name. Our call tracking provider also sets a cookie so the phone number on the page matches the advert you clicked. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings and opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads. Blocking cookies does not stop the quote form or the phone number working.

How long we keep it

If you do not go ahead with any work, we keep your enquiry for up to 24 months so we can answer any follow-up questions, then delete it. If you become a customer, we keep records of the work for as long as any guarantee lasts and for six years after that, as UK accounting and tax rules require. Call recordings are kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask us to stop any marketing. To use any of these rights, call us on 01268 000 000. We will reply within one month and will not charge you unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
